In the country of England you will find many great cities and towns that you can visit. Of
these the city of Liverpool is one that you should take the time to come and visit. You will be able to find this
city along the eastern side of the Mersey Estuary. Here it is both a city and metropolitan borough of the
Merseyside County in North West England. The city of Liverpool was first founded as a borough in 1207 and in 1880
it was granted the right to become a city.
Visitors to Liverpool will find a modern city where they can see many interesting sights along with the modern
amenities required for making any holiday quite pleasurable. Here you can combine pursuits like shopping, clubbing,
visiting recreational centers and parks with that of seeing the sights of Liverpool. To help make your time in this
city easier you will find it helpful if you use a map to find some of your choice sights of interest.
Of the various sights that you will be able to find in this city you should make the effort to visit the Royal
Liver Building. You can find this building near the riverside. Even though it was built in 1911 you will find the
Royal Liver Buildings still has the ability to dominate the skyline of Liverpool. The building is also the home of
the legendary Liver Bird which is known to perch on the top of the building and looks out across to the Wirral. Of
the various buildings and monuments that you will see in Liverpool this Royal Liver Building is an iconic symbol of
the Liverpool waterfront.
Another place that you should visit while you are in Liverpool is that of the World Museum Liverpool. You will be
able to find this museum near St. George s Hall. As you look through this museum you will see that it contains an
excellent array of artifacts that you will find interesting. For example you will find there is a collection of
British rocketry exhibits. Besides looking at these exhibits you will enjoy viewing the Egyptian artifacts which
can be seen in this museum.
Lovers of music and the Beatles will especially enjoy a visit to the city of Liverpool as this city is the home of
the Beatles. Here you will find The Beatles Story in Albert Dock. The Beatles Story is a museum which is dedicated
solely to the Beatles. Here in this Beatles themed museum you will see numerous exhibits such as the instruments
the band used throughout their career as performers and other artifacts which helped to make the Beatles so popular
the world over. Besides looking at these artifacts you will be able to see other attractions based on The Beatles
including their homes, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane, commemorative statues, and much more.
Of course these are not the only sights you will be able to see when you visit Liverpool. There are numerous
museums, religious buildings and parks which you can explore. All of these sights and the many others that you will
discover in Liverpool will help to make your holiday here in this city a memorable one.
