How to Find Hotels in London
The capital city of London has long been a major tourist attraction for visitors to the UK
with its array of historic neighbourhoods and famous landmarks. For those looking to stay in the city there are an
endless choice of hotels in the city ranging from low budget rooms to luxuriously furnished suites in prime
locations.
London is a vast city with many different areas that all offer something unique. Depending on where you want to
stay will affect the price of your hotel. For example, a room at a luxury hotel in the heart of the West End is
more likely to be at the higher end of hotel prices whereas a room in one of the outer boroughs may cost a lot
less.
For many tourists being close to areas such as the West End and Westminster are important as they want to be within
easy reach of the many attractions such as the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Covent Garden. Within these areas
there are numerous big chain hotels that offer a good standard of accommodation and easy access to the surrounding
attractions. If you are travelling on a budget however, it may be a good idea to avoid these hotels and look for
something more affordable within the nearby neighbourhoods. Because of the extensive public transport system in
London most of the attractions are easy to reach by tube or bus.
Many people choose to stay in areas such as Kings Cross due to the convenient transport links to the airports and
to other parts of the country with the underground station and national and international station; St Pancras.
If you have not been to London before, finding a good hotel can be a daunting task. Fortunately, with the advent of
the internet a wide number of London hotels have started to advertise rooms on their own websites. By researching
accommodation in the areas you would like to stay you can get an idea of how much you need to budget for a room and
what types of amenities are available to you.
If you have a set of requirements for your hotel then you may have to expand your search to different areas to find
exactly what you need. Due to the size of the city and the abundance of hotels in London, finding the right hotel
for you can be done fairly easily. By deciding on the areas of the city that you would like to explore beforehand
you can estimate how far you want to travel to explore.
London is easy to traverse thanks to the underground train system and bus services so it isn t necessarily that
important to stay close the places you would like to visit. Because of this ability to easily explore the city,
visitors can widen their choice of hotels to include some of the surrounding, more affordable hotels in
neighbourhoods such as Shepherd s Bush and Wimbledon.
