Holiday Rentals in West Sussex, England
The county of West Sussex is an ideal destination for a family holiday in England
It boasts a mix of some beautiful countryside, lovely beaches, quaint villages, busy towns, a
wealth of attractions and some fantastic arts and culture.
There's always something to see and do in West Sussex, so it doesn't matter whether the sun is shining or it's
pouring with rain. There are plenty of indoor attractions as well as outdoor entertainment for all age groups.
It's also perfect for a self-catering holiday, as there are many holiday property rentals available in West
Sussex.
This area has many great ideas for fun-filled family days out. Whether you've got tots or teens, they will
appreciate what's on offer. There's everything from beaches, amusement parks, countryside and wildlife centres,
gardens, farms, historic buildings, galleries, museums, sports facilities and a whole lot more.
The city of Chichester is a good base from which to get to other areas of West Sussex. The city itself also has
plenty going on, too. The magnificent cathedral is a must-see. Also here is the Festival Theatre, Chichester
Harbour, a good shopping centre and some nice restaurants. Near to the city is Fishbourne Roman Palace, Weald &
Downland Museum (an open-air museum which has some lovely traditional rural buildings), West Dean Gardens, Earnley
Butterflies and Garden, Goodwood House and more!
There are also some great places to head to along the coast in West Sussex. The towns of Shoreham-by-Sea, Worthing,
Littlehampton, Bognor Regis and Selsey are all worth a visit.
Shoreham-by-Sea is a lovely town which has a port, an airport and is a good place to relax, maybe just sit by the
river and watch the world go by.
Worthing is situated just a few miles along the coast from Shoreham-by-Sea and has plenty of attractions to suit
all tastes, as well as a wealth of shops and a good museum and art gallery located right in the town centre.
Littlehampton is a great traditional seaside town that's perfect for a fun-filled family day out. The children will
love the beach and there is also an amusement park on the seafront, which provides useful cover should it rain
during your holiday.
Moving along the coast, Bognor Regis, which was given the title Regis by King George V in 1929, has plenty to offer
its visitors. This town is also home to the large holiday centre Butlins. Bognor Regis also has a museum and there
is a lovely park, Hotham Park, which is a good place to chill out after a day on the beach. It's an ideal picnic
spot, too.
If you're looking to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the busier towns in the area, be sure to visit the
town of Selsey. You could take a walk by the sea or just stroll around the town and maybe stop off at a caf? for a
cup of tea and cake!
There are also many interesting places to visit away from the coast in West Sussex. There's the historic market
town of Arundel, which boasts a beautiful castle. It's the second largest castle in England and, along with its
fantastic grounds, is well worth a visit. Picturesque Arundel also has a cathedral to see, some lovely architecture
to look at, as well as some delightful shops, including antique shops and tearooms. You can also take a boat trip
here on the River Arun.
There is so much else to do in West Sussex. If you're the sporty type, there are many locations and facilities
throughout West Sussex. If you like the great outdoors, then you might prefer to see the county by foot or by
bike.
West Sussex is brimming with all the ingredients to make an enjoyable and memorable holiday. There's always
something different to do each day and there's a great selection of self-catering properties here, too, which are
ideal for family holidays.
