Brighton & Hove Tourist Information & Travel Guide

Brighton & Hove lies on the coast of England as the most populated seaside city. It is a multicultural area and is primarily known for its beautiful seafront which is the central resource for entertainment. Visitors can relax by the seafront and take advantage of activities such as surfing, swimming, basketball and much more.

Children can take part in building sand castles or have some fun in the children’s play area and there are numerous facilities for people of all ages. You can take part in bungee rides, arcade games and miniature golf sessions. There is also a fitness centre.

Brighton Pier offers food and drink for people relaxing around the seaside. It has quite a few food outlets, fairground attractions and various arcades at the Palace of Fun. You will predominantly find a good choice of fish and chips here at specialist restaurants such as Palm Court Fish Restaurant and Horatio’s Bar.

For a more historical experience of Brighton & Hove you can visit the Royal Pavilion which showcases vintage furniture and exceptional artwork. The Royal Pavilion has been involved in a massive restoration plan costing £10million where most furnishings and unique decorations have been re created.

If you are interested in Museums and culture, The Hove Museum and Art Gallery is definitely worth a visit. It has been through major refurbishment and restored fully in order for visitors to experience the museum as a learning facility alongside creating an enjoyable time for everyone. Here you will find a spectacular collection of galleries.

Children can view an interactive toy gallery whilst others will find a historic guide to cinema in the film gallery which celebrates local film makers from the 1890’s and 1900’s. There are also craft galleries illustrating contemporary crafts from the twentieth century. The focal gallery looks at star objects whereas the secondary craft gallery focuses on craft making and the processes involved.

For sports activities, Brighton Racecourse is a stunning view of horse racing where you will find high quality racing against the backdrop of Brighton’s seafront. It is famous for its beautiful view and known as being the most picturesque landscape from all the race courses in England.

The thrill of the race is exemplified at this renowned race course where horseback riders are seconds away from the crowd once at the finish line. There are two types of tickets available, Fancy a Flutter and Classic Raceday. These packages must be booked five days prior to the race.

You can find scenic and panoramic views of the countryside consisting of over 14,000 acres across Brighton and surrounding areas. For long walks you can visit The Dykes where regular bus services travel from the city to the most recognised countryside spots. Cyclists can also travel to Rottingdean, a seaside village, which is located on the coast of Brighton. It is an area that became more prominent amongst artists and politicians as it harps back the references made in the Doomsday Book.

Brighton & Hove is a colourful city that is full of life where all aspects of culture, entertainment, leisure and natural beauty tie in together to create an enjoyable experience for you.
